Haus of Anele — 100 Years and Beyond

Enterprise, converted
into lasting human dignity.

The AN Foundation is the charitable vehicle through which family trusts, private investors and group companies direct corporate social investment across South Africa, the wider SADC region and the Gulf.

Purpose within the Haus of Anele

One accountable vehicle for a hundred years of giving.

Group companies contribute through the Foundation rather than through fragmented, one-off gestures. That single channel allows corporate social investment to be planned, measured and aligned with the same long horizon that governs the family trusts.

The Foundation does not trade. Its purpose is to convert a portion of group success into durable community benefit — and it is designed to outlast any single operating company, so that giving remains coherent even as the portfolio evolves.

Where our giving goes

Four focus areas. One standard of stewardship.

We fund programmes that respect effort, skill and endurance — and we invest where structure lasts. Every initiative is judged on whether it builds capability rather than dependence.

Education

Education

Bursaries, vocational training and literacy development that build open doors and keep them open.

Skills & Dignity of Work

Skills & Dignity of Work

Training programmes that turn capability into earning — the dignity of work, distilled.

Community Institutions

Community Institutions

Investing where the structure lasts: schools, NGOs and credible bodies that together unite the greater ends.

Family & Practical Care

Family & Practical Care

Basic needs, basic security, basic stability — the foundations from which families grow into their potential.

Our Values

The Foundation will not use CSI as a substitute for doing business honestly.

These five core standards govern how we receive, steward and deploy funds — and they are the yardstick against which our partners and beneficiaries should measure us.

Integrity

We give and we govern in the open. Funds, partners and beneficiaries are treated with honesty.

Solid Foundations

We invest where structure lasts — schools, skills pipelines, community institutions and family stability.

Family Unity

The Foundation belongs to a family project intended to outlive its founder. Stewardship, not platform.

Service under Providence

Prosperity is held in trust. Giving is an act of responsibility and gratitude — never of superiority.

Hard Work and Perseverance

We favour programmes that reward effort, skill and endurance — education, training, enterprise readiness and the dignity of work — over short-lived display.

Foundation Standard № 1

Governance

Stewardship, held to account.

Governance sits with the Foundation Principal, supported by the Executive Administrator and by the discipline of the family trusts.

Dual remit: Foundation + Istogen Group (GCC & SADC)

Executive Mandate

Building the operational backbone of long-horizon giving.

Miss Nekai Stock serves as AN Foundation Executive Administrator. She provides coordination, correspondence, fundraising, scheduling and administrative support that enables the Foundation to operate with discipline and long-term continuity.

M

Mandate

In support of the Foundation's purpose — converting group success into durable community benefit — Miss Stock assists in directing corporate social investment toward education, basic needs and practical care for children. Her role strengthens the operational backbone of the Foundation so that giving remains coherent and effective across generations.

G

Group Coordination

In parallel, Miss Stock coordinates executive assistant services for Istogen International Investments across the GCC and SADC, and provides the same services to Istogen Investment Holdings in South Africa. This dual Foundation-and-group remit allows CSI solicitations to be aligned with group companies without fragmenting administrative control.

A

Accountability

Miss Stock reports to the Foundation Principal. Performance is measured against operational continuity of the Foundation, quality and discipline of correspondence and scheduling, and progress against the R2 million CSI fundraising target for 2026/2027.
